Who We Are
Established in 1981, Feeding South Florida is a non-profit dedicated to ending hunger and strengthening communities. As the region’s leading hunger-relief organization, we serve 25% of Florida’s food-insecure population, providing nutritious food and resources to over 1.7 million individuals. Through a network of non-profit Partner Agencies, we support families across Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties, addressing both immediate needs and long-term solutions to food insecurity.
Our Vision
A hunger-free South Florida in which families have transitioned from dependency to self-sufficiency.
Our Mission
Feeding South Florida’s mission is to end hunger in South Florida by providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts and transforming lives through innovative programming and education.
Our Core Values
Feeding South Florida is committed to professionalism represented by the following values that guide our mission:
How We Work
Rescuing and Distributing Meals: Every year, more than 70 billion pounds of safe, nutritious food goes to waste in the United States—lost at every stage of the supply chain, from farms to retailers. Feeding South Florida steps in to rescue and distribute this surplus, ensuring it reaches individuals and families facing food insecurity.
Programs and Services: Beyond supporting partner agencies, Feeding South Florida directly serves families through our Client Choice Pantry and Mobile FARMacy, providing fresh, nutritious food. We also offer benefits assistance and Workforce Training and Nutrition Education classes, empowering individuals with the tools to break the cycle of hunger and poverty.
Leader of Advocacy Efforts and Hunger Research: As the leading hunger-relief organization in the region and a proud member of the Feeding America® network, we use industry-leading research and data to drive advocacy and raise awareness, shaping impactful solutions across South Florida.
